MOUNT MERU CLIMB

DAY ONE: NAIROBI - ARUSHA
Travel to Arusha from Nairobi. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Arusha

DAY TWO: MT. MERU CLIMB - MARIAKAMBA HUT
After early breakfast proceed for Mt. Meru Climb. At 4566m (14,900ft) mount Meru is the fifth highest Mountain in Africa. Walk up to Mariakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.

DAY THREE: MARIAKAMBA HUT-SADDLE HUT
After breakfast there is steep but relatively relaxed walk up to the saddle Hut, pressing through the open North-Eastern flanks of the Mountain where the red flowered Hagenia Trees grows profusely. Less obvious but also sharing the Montane forest, are Bushbuck, Mountain Reed buck, and Ducker who forge among the undergrowth and do not venture out into the exposed upper slopes where giant heather have come to dominate. Dinner and overnight at Saddle Hut.

DAY FOUR: SADDLE HUT - SUMMIT- ARUSHA
Walk to summit and then descend to the gate and transfer clients to Arusha for Dinner and overnight.

DAY FIVE: ARUSHA - NAIROBI
Depart Arusha to arrive in Nairobi in the evening. Dinner and overnight in Nairobi.
